Just The Tonic!

Happy New Year!

It’s been quite a while since my last post, I know.

Actually, I’ve been rather busy with new work projects and looking after my lovely boy, who is now going to secondary school would you believe!

How the heck did that happen? (He’s growing up so fast)

I’m still trying to get my head around this.

I’m also trying to get my head around an impromptu return to working in the recruitment sector…

Currently utilising my established Business Intros network & talent pool, helping organisations with hiring requirements.

It’s early days, but I’m happy to report that it’s going well.

I’m still working in the RPA space, and I’m just delighted with the progress thus far.

Transformation / Automation tech has always been well-received by my network, and it’s something that I’m keen to keep a hand in…

Current, high-value transformation (specifically automation / RPA) technology ticks a lot of boxes – especially in this covid climate.

Other new partners include; a new healthcare marketplace platform and a strategic space planning consultancy.

And, whilst there have been many positive changes my end, one thing still remains the same… Covid Doom!

It’s been challenging to say the least.

I met a dear friend recently…

He founded a successful oil & gas service company in the 1970’s, and has generously given me advice over the years.

I outlined some of the challenges (okay, so I had a bit of a moan about) working in this covid climate.

Challenges such as staying motivated to pitch and dealing with scarcity mindset amidst all this uncertainty.

You know, all the trivial stuff that make business development a “dream sector” to be working in at the moment lol.

His advice was simple –

“Screw the nut and keep it moving!”

(A loose translation for non-Scots: Pull yourself together / stay focused and keep moving forward)

Just the tonic!

This was much-needed and timely advice for me.

(Also, a reality check – because let’s not forget that we should be so very thankful if we are still able to work in this current climate… Many cannot!)

As for other plans, strategy etc. for the new year?  It’s much of the same really.

I shall prioritise spiritual growth, parenting, health and fitness…

And I’m fully committed to delivering the very best level of service and results for my partners.

In short, I’ll be building on what works / has worked… and trying some new stuff!

So, let’s make the days count in 2022 and have the courage to keep going regardless.

After all, the only way to learn & grow is to show up.

God willing there are still great opportunities in spite of all the chaos.

I wish you well.

And he who examines the thick clouds does not reap.”
